TIL Freight - three makes a family

Aug 15, 2014

TIL Freight CEO Jon Kyle is proud to lead a “world class” team of logistics professionals in the new TIL Freight family bringing together Roadstar, TNL Freight and Hooker Pacific.

While each will retain its brand and key customers, together they form a nationwide network of 25 depots and warehouses utilising the same consignment software.
“Customers will find TIL Freight an easier company to deal with having one team and one set of goals guiding all our members,” explains Jon.

“Track and trace, and customer services will improve to higher levels than the three separate companies were capable of prior to amalgamating.”

Jon describes the new TIL Freight management structure as “fairly flat” with Regional Freight Managers, Distribution Managers, Health and Safety Managers, Finance, Special Projects and Sales & Marketing Managers reporting through to him.

Members of the TIL Freight Senior Management team are;

  • Hayden Garing - Northern Region manager looking after Auckland and Northland,
  • Tony Hamilton - Executive Officer Central looking after the Waikato to Wellington;
  • Mark Holland looking after the top of the South Island including Marlborough, Nelson and the West Coast;
  • Richard Mears looking after the Canterbury & Southland Regions
  • Jo Dando - National Health, Safety & Quality Manager
  • Andy Watt - National Sales & Marketing Manager - Hooker Pacific
  • Niall Stephens - National Sales & Marketing Manager - Roadstar
  • Paul Rait - National Sales & Marketing Manager - TNL
  • Geoff Yates - Financial Accountant

Jon himself has 20 years’ experience in the transport industry after graduating from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Commerce. Based in Auckland, prior to the amalgamation he headed up TNL Freight’s nationwide operation.

“I have held a variety of transport and logistics roles including administration, operations, management, and a little bit of driving too!”says Jon.

“That means I have been lucky enough to have worked in the warehouse, and on rural, tanker, bulk and general freight businesses in my career.”

Whatever position Jon has held, he says that he particularly enjoys the challenges of providing a smooth functioning service solution to clients.  “I am incredibly proud of the way everyone at TIL Freight is embracing the new amalgamated business and making sure that we are all one team,” says Jon.
